It is pronounced pray or prah. It is a white sand beach and lovely village.

Praa sands lies within the Cornwall area of outstanding natural beauty. The white sand is made up of seashells that have been crushed over the years.

The beach is great for families and kids to build sandcastles. it is located on the coast between Penzance and helston.

It is one of Cornwall’s best-known surf spots -, the sandy beach stretches between hoe point in the west and Rinsey head in the east.

Just inland from the beach is Pengersick castle which dates back to the 16 th century. it is said to be haunted.

The lovely white sands and azure waters would give the impression that you would be on a tropical island well worth a visit.

Close to praa sands is Prussia cove once the hide out of the notorious Cornish smuggler – John Carter nick named King of Prussia.

The beach has the usual amenities and is very popular with the surfer’s community.
